What attracted you to CSUSM?
The focus on the students and the commitment to addressing the needs of the community was a big factor, along with the supportive and collaborative faculty.
How did you become interested in your field?
I was working as an ESL teacher in Spain and was encouraged to consider speech-language pathology as a good match for my background in language and education.
What type of research are you doing?
I am focused on factors influencing literacy development in Spanish-speaking children in U.S. schools.
What inspired you to choose that area of research?
It was a good way to make use of being bilingual in Spanish.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I once did voice-over work for a small role in a Thai martial arts movie.
