“As we partner together in the future, I’ll lean on you to serve as both a champion for our college and to serve as a critical friend,” said Ayala.

On Friday, November 1, 2019, Dr. Emiliano Ayala, Dean for the College of Education, Health & Human Services (CEHHS) hosted a Meet & Greet and invited community leaders that work in health, human service and educational fields common with the college. The purpose of this meeting was not only an opportunity for attendees to connect with one another but it was also an opportunity for Ayala to identify professionals who would also serve as collaborative advisors on his new council.

IMG_3868The College of Education, Health & Human Services house three areas – the School of Education, the School of Nursing and the School of Health Sciences and Human Services which is comprised of Kinesiology, Human Development, Public Health, Speech-Language Pathology, and Social Work departments. One primary focus that is common in three areas is the drive for Interprofessional Education Programs (IPE).

IMG_3982Ayala proudly shared that CEHHS students serve over half a million hours at approximately 500 partnership sites each year, and it’s important that we continue building those partnerships that benefit all parties involved – the students, the University and the community!

IMG_3933“More than 80% of our graduates stay in this region and help contribute to CSUSM’s $458M annual economic impact,” said Ayala.
